WTF is the deal Mr Drupal

We are having some serious Drupal issues, which prevent any new posts from being shown unless you are logged in as an authenticated user. I've tried numerous things but we are still coming up short. We have had news, but I haven't figured out how to fix this problem. Have any ideas? Have you experienced this before?
The site sucks and we know it, but we're working a a fix so things might be changing for better or for worst(hopefully better) within a week or so.

The word server is used quite broadly in information technology.
